Share Your Picture

One of our main aims for World Kidney Day 2025 is to give a platform to the kidney community so your voices are heard. You know better than anyone what it’s like to live with kidney disease. And we’re sure you’ve had to deal with many situations where people share their misconceptions about the disease or dismiss it as a ‘minor illness’. We need your support to bust these myths – are you up for helping?

It’s as easy as this…

Create a picture using our photo editor below – use a photo of you or something else memorable if you prefer. Then share the photo on your social media channels with your take on #DontKidYourself. Maybe you were kidding yourself about a niggling symptom and put off going to the doctors? Tell that story. Or perhaps you’re sick of hearing things like ‘transplants are a cure, aren’t they?’ – banish this myth to the bin and give your followers the truth when you share your photo.

Now you've got your photo, here’s how to share it:

Remember to add any or all of the hashtags #DontKidYourself #KidneysMatter #WorldKidneyDay

Facebook - post your photo and tag (@worldkidneydayuk)

X – post your photo and tag @kidneydayuk

Instagram – post your photo and tag @worldkidneydayuk

Not digital savvy?

Print out a kidney here, then take a picture with it and upload it to Facebook, Instagram or X, following the instructions above.

Or, if you want to share some facts about what it's like to live with kidney disease, download our factsheet, print it out and share it with your family and friends.
